A different sort of hunt

Gabriel was used to being odd man out, the only Omega born to his small, powerful pack. But with two older brothers who were both Alphas, they were usually more concerned with their own power plays than Gabriel and his search for a mate.
Because heat when you were unmated? Sucked.
Michael would probably prefer to chain him up once a year and let him sweat it out, which is probably why he left home as his heat started to near.
If he was going to find a mate, it was going to be on his terms.
What he didn't expect was to catch a tantalizing scent at the local bookstore. Something that called up images of sunlight and pine trees and cool shade.

Date: 2013-11-30 09:00 pm (UTC)Mated. He'd finally found his Alpha in Sam Winchester.
"More," he begged, his wolf finally relaxed and calm beneath the larger one. "God. Sam.."
no subject
Date: 2013-11-30 09:04 pm (UTC)He slid back, almost all the way out before pushing back in again. Letting Gabriel get used to the movement, to the feeling before he did anything else. "God, Gabriel. You feel so good."
no subject
Date: 2013-11-30 09:51 pm (UTC)But even without the bite, it's perfect, heat and pressure and his wolf screaming finally. Finally he's found his mate.
"Sam.. so good. S'okay, can take it. Want more."
no subject
Date: 2013-11-30 10:00 pm (UTC)Sam took him at his word, though, hands hard on Gabriel's hips as he started moving faster, thrusting harder into him. His fingers dug in, hard enough to raise bruises that would heal quickly but that they'd both know had been there. "Fucking perfect, Gabriel. So fucking tight and hot." He punctuated it with a hard thrust. "Mine."
no subject
Date: 2013-11-30 10:08 pm (UTC)"Fuck Sam.. so fucking good. Yours. Always been.. nnh.. yours." He's so hard it hurts and every thrust brings him achingly close to the brink. "Yours."

Date: 2013-11-30 10:16 pm (UTC)Something that was going to happen sooner rather than later because Sam can already feel the knot at the base of his dick swelling, stretching Gabriel just that little bit further until Sam couldn't move any longer, just pulsed his hips as his hand stroked over Gabriel. "That's it, Gabriel. Feel so fucking good."
no subject
Date: 2013-11-30 10:28 pm (UTC)He belongs with Sam.
"Fuck.. Sam. Like that. Just like that. Gonna make me.. gonna.."
no subject
Date: 2013-11-30 10:34 pm (UTC)Not something they have to worry about at the moment, but biology doesn't care about the implant, either.
"That's it, Gabe. Give it to me."
no subject
Date: 2013-12-01 10:11 pm (UTC)"S-Sam." A miracle he can even form words after that. "Come Sam. Want you filling me up," he panted, pushing back against him.
no subject
Date: 2013-12-01 10:36 pm (UTC)He didn't, though. He held his head back, panting as he poured into Gabriel, finally laying over him for a moment as he spent the last of his load, knot still tying them firmly together for the next thirty minutes at least. "Mmm. Perfect."
no subject
Date: 2013-12-01 11:13 pm (UTC)"Completely perfect," he sighed blissfully.
"Think I can probably reach my cell if you need to check in." His brothers might worry, but at the moment, Gabriel couldn't give a good goddamn what his brothers thought. He had Sam. Nothing else mattered.

Date: 2013-12-01 11:17 pm (UTC)There was a question whether he'd make it out of the apartment before he had to head back to school. "Though there's a couple of things we might want to talk about first, before I call them."
no subject
Date: 2013-12-01 11:31 pm (UTC)He rumbled contentedly at the caress, perfectly happy to lay close to Sam, his body draped over him. "I've got plenty in the fridge. Stocked up, you know."
There was a lot they'd have to sort out. Gabriel trusted that before it was over, he'd be permanently marked as Sam's, part of a pack that might actually want him around. "Yeah, we probably do."
no subject
Date: 2013-12-01 11:39 pm (UTC)"That's good to know. At least we're not going to starve." He'd heard of the possibility before, but mostly with packless wolves. But not something recent, especially with the advent of being able to order grocery deliveries online. "Though if there's time for the pies to cook before the next round, I'm pretty sure we can gloss over most stuff with my family."
John and Dean would have far less issue with it once they found out more about Gabriel's situation. Bobby would probably tell them what he knew, after all. But Sam was home for a family centric holiday and got himself caught elsewhere.
He pressed another kiss to Gabriel's skin. "We'll talk about other stuff once we can talk face to face. Just make sure we're both on the same page here."
Because yes, Sam definitely wanted to bond with Gabriel. He just wanted to be certain that was what Gabriel wanted, too. There were pairs that mated together for years before they bonded, after all.

Date: 2013-12-02 12:30 am (UTC)He's just not going to mention how awful they were about the entire process. Chains made heat a special kind of hell, and only gave him more reason to stay at his own apartment, away from his pack.
"Yeah, should be enough time so we can get them baked off, especially if we bring them up here. There's a couple loaves of bread I baked off this morning you can take too if you think that'll help smooth things over with them."
"Fair enough, Sam. Give me enough time to get some feeling back in my legs too," a trace of smirk colored his voice as he kissed the back of Sam's hand. He'd been an unbonded Omega for years, and it was enough to know that he'd finally found his Alpha, the wolf that would one day claim him as his.
Mated, bonded, and one day he'd get the implant removed. Children. God. He couldn't wait.

Date: 2013-12-02 11:05 am (UTC)"I'm glad you weren't at home," Sam said honestly. "I'm starting to wonder if I'd ever have seen you if your brothers had anything to say about it." Definitely wouldn't have if Lucifer had any say in it. Sam knew that from long ago past, when Lucifer had made it clear that he'd hoped Sam would be an Omega and, therefore, his. Which was the reason Sam hated the man so much, for just assuming that about any Omega.
That Gabriel had grown up with that sort of an attitude around him just made Sam mad.
He turned his hand over, taking Gabriel's and threading their fingers together. "A lot of things are probably going to change after this, you know. I think we may have just made my final year of law school a special kind of hell." Being so far from his mate was not something that Sam had been planning on, but it was something he could work with.

Date: 2013-12-02 02:29 pm (UTC)When you’re checking in with your family, I’ll call my cousin. Anna’s a Beta, should be able to drop off whatever you want without causing a stir.” Gabriel sighed, rubbing his cheek against their linked hands. Their scents were mingled on Sam’s skin and his wolf couldn’t get enough of it, how well they blended together.
His smile was brittle as he breathed in his scent. “Knowing Lu? Probably not.” Lucifer had always been obsessed with the Winchester pack, and if he’d learned that Gabriel and Sam were destined to be mates? Well. He’s not going to think about just how far that might drive his brother. “But he and Michael were too busy going at it again. Good reason for me to get out of the house, try and find a mate on my own rather than get locked down again.”
A year in law school meant a year apart. Gabriel pressed back against Sam’s body, reassured by the warmth of his Alpha. Everything had changed, but it was going to be okay. He had a mate. A place where he finally belonged. “I know. But it’s just one year, and I can probably talk Anna and Cas into visiting and watching the place when you’re on break. Sneak up for a visit now and then.” Gabriel had waited his entire life for this. Another year wouldn’t kill him.
“I’m not going to go back to the house,” he said quietly. “Ever.”

Date: 2013-12-02 07:39 pm (UTC)"No, you won't be," he agreed, using the linked hands to pull Gabriel back against him. "If there's anything you absolutely need from there, have Anna swing by and get it for you. Documents, favorite pictures. If it can't be replaced or if it would be difficult to replace, have her grab it and take it to Bobby or the Roadhouse. I'll make sure they're both apprised of the situation so that they know to expect her."
Sam was good at planning. He always had been. He'd always been the one who kept things on track with the family business, making certain things were paid off. Jo was doing it now, but it was still his system that she used. "We're not going to put her in the middle, but I'm guessing since you're not calling Cas to take things out to the house, he's probably an Omega?" Which would mean bad things, sending him into a house where there were already to Alphas fighting. "We should be safe enough here, but I'll let Dad know that we might need the heat cottage on the grounds."
It had been a precaution put in when they'd learned that Dean was an Alpha, just in case one of the other boys turned out to be an Omega. A place on the grounds that wasn't too far from the house but where the scent couldn't reach them. It turned out mostly to be useful for Dean to bring girlfriends out to, but they'd always figured it might have a use one day.

Date: 2013-12-02 08:08 pm (UTC)There were things that Gabriel wasn’t telling Sam about his past, but it wasn’t out of any real desire to keep things from his new mate. They were in his past and some of them were frankly, a little humiliating. He wasn’t going back and as Sam pulled him in closer, Gabriel knew he would tell him someday. But they’re not things he wants to think about right now. He was sated and content, covered in Sam’s scent – a mated Omega at last.
“Nothing,” he shook his head. “Anything I wanted to keep I smuggled out when I started sneaking off to stay here.”
Staying safe, well. That was going to be another matter. “Michael will probably just disown me. He’s wanted to since I came into my first heat. Raphael will do whatever he tells him to. It’s Lucifer I’m worried about.” His older brother was possessive and quick to anger. Losing Gabriel to the wolf that he’d been obsessed with? Probably not going to go over well.
“We should be okay here today. Tomorrow? If Anna can give us a lift, that cottage might not be a bad idea. They’ll realize something’s up when I don’t come back to the house.”
God he hated his family. They should be celebrating this, not planning the best way to stay safe while he was mating. An uneasy whine slipped free as he burrowed back against Sam. “No Omega is safe in that house, especially Cas. He can’t go there, and I won’t put Anna at risk either. They can watch the bakery for me, but I don’t want them getting involved.”
"I hate them, Sam. I shouldn't, but I do."

Date: 2013-12-02 08:38 pm (UTC)It wasn't just Sam's wolf and the burgeoning bond that made him say that. The Winchester pack was very clear on the fact that Omegas had a good and honored place within the pack structure and in the world at large. Especially since they were Alpha heavy. It meant that the boys' partners would become part of the pack, whether Beta or Omega. And they all knew better than to disrespect either of their mothers.
"I'm not afraid of Lucifer," Sam replied, squeezing Gabriel's hand. And as much as he'd wanted to wait until they were face to face... "You are my mate. My bonded mate, I hope, if you'll allow me that honor. That means that anybody who comes after you crosses the entire pack. We may be small, but your brother would find himself in deep shit if he came after any of us."
John Winchester had been a Marine before he fell in love with Mary Campbell. He'd never been a man to depend only on his wolf for defense and had taught all three of his sons the same. It might not be something that Sam was proud of, but he would absolutely do whatever he had to to make sure Lucifer never touched Gabriel again.

Date: 2013-12-02 09:17 pm (UTC)Gabriel didn’t want to hate his brothers. He’d wanted things to be like they were when they were children. When they’d all shifted and run together, chased and wrestled until they were exhausted and fell asleep in a giant tangle of limbs. When they’d been happy and he’d adored them all. But since their status – everything had gone wrong. Michael and Lucifer were constantly fighting, and when they weren’t turning on each other they were taking out their anger on the weakest wolf of the pack. Instinct or cruelty, it didn’t matter. Love turned to hate and Gabriel simply wanted a way out.
Sam had finally given him that way, a warm and sincere voice promising him that he wouldn’t be treated like that anymore and Gabriel knew that it was the truth. The Winchesters were going to be his pack now. His family. He’d be a Winchester now instead of a Novak.“Yes Sam. God, yes. I want to bind myself to you. I want a life with you.”
He had his own ways of defending himself. You don’t live as an Omega among that many Alphas as long as he had without learning a few vicious tricks along the way. But it was nice to know that others would defend him too, especially when the implant came out and he could concieve.
Glancing down at their linked hands, Gabriel rubbed his thumb along the side of Sam’s hand. “And I meant what I said about kids. I want them. But since you’ve got another year of school, it can wait until you’re done, until it feels right.”
no subject
Date: 2013-12-02 10:28 pm (UTC)He looked down at their linked hands as well, smiling before taking his hand away to lay over Gabriel's stomach. "It's probably more like seven months," he replied. "No doubt, once my dad knows that we're bonded, he'll start looking to get a place set up for us on pack land. Someplace like Ellen and Bobby have. I think, by this time next year, once we're settled into the house, we can probably seriously consider children."
Because, yes, Sam very much wanted children as well. As many as Gabriel was willing without compromising his health.

Date: 2013-12-03 12:29 am (UTC)"This time next year? That doesn't sound too bad at all," he hummed. A whole house full of children with Sam's bright smile and charming dimples. "When our Dad died, he left all of us a pretty decent legacy. So I can pull my weight if we need to set up a new place."
Gabriel glanced around his small bedroom. "Shouldn't take long to pack up what I've got here."
Because the sooner he moved in with the Winchester pack, the better.

Date: 2013-12-03 01:04 am (UTC)Something he really didn't like thinking about. And, for once, wished his knot would go down early so that he could get started on getting things sorted out. He knew his family wouldn't have a problem with Gabriel. They'd welcome him, even if they might be a bit surprised at how quickly the bonding happened, though he was sure he remembered stories of how John's bond with Mary had happened quick, too.
"Well, we're going to have to furnish the place ourselves, I'm sure. Should probably try not to eat into what you have too much. But once I pass the bar and everything, it sounds like we should be pretty well set."
no subject
Date: 2013-12-03 04:20 am (UTC)Sensing the tension, he pressed himself back against Sam, resting his free hand on his hip. "Hey. We'll start on all the heavy lifting soon enough. Get things planned out." Right now, they had time to rest, to talk before his knot went down enough for them to plan for the next round.
"Oh I've been doing pretty damn good on my own for years now. Think we'll be able to do the place up right once you get done with school and we can settle in."
