A different sort of hunt

Gabriel was used to being odd man out, the only Omega born to his small, powerful pack. But with two older brothers who were both Alphas, they were usually more concerned with their own power plays than Gabriel and his search for a mate.
Because heat when you were unmated? Sucked.
Michael would probably prefer to chain him up once a year and let him sweat it out, which is probably why he left home as his heat started to near.
If he was going to find a mate, it was going to be on his terms.
What he didn't expect was to catch a tantalizing scent at the local bookstore. Something that called up images of sunlight and pine trees and cool shade.

Most of his apartment had already been packed, though, and that left him to watch TV at loose ends for the night. He'd dozed off on the couch at some point, weapon nearby. He came awake at the sound of somebody in the corridor, reaching for the gun as he got up and headed for the door. He did walk over to the window, looking out for a moment before he relaxed. The Impala was in the parking lot, so that could only be good news.
He crossed to the door, tucking the gun into a holster at the back of his jeans, opening the door when he heard them coming closer. Which was when he got the first whiff of Gabriel and how his scent had changed. And even though he'd been told, he stood in the doorway, eyes gone wide with wonder.

Bag slung over one shoulder, both hands free, Dean tromped up the hall behind him. "Okay. Both of you inside. I've been living on coffee all night and if I don't eat something soon.."

Date: 2013-12-15 12:58 am (UTC)He went into the hug, though, hugging Dean tight. "I don't know about that, but we'll definitely do our best." He pulled away before the hug could go too long, pulling Gabriel closer. "There's sandwich stuff in the fridge. We'll make sure you have a couple more before you head back out, too. And a flask of coffee." Because it would be a lot better than gas station stuff.

Gabriel snorted out a laugh, heading for the kitchen. "Sandwiches all around then. I'm on it."

Date: 2013-12-15 09:57 am (UTC)It probably wasn't even going to be difficult because Sam figured Gabriel could probably use a nap, too. Once he'd eaten, at least. And Sam was certainly more than willing to lay down for a while, too.

He could do it and not have to worry or think about much for a few minutes. He smiled at his mate, watching Sam tug a blanket over Dean.
A family. This is what a family was supposed to be like and he'd never been happier.
