Sam takes a deep breath, fingers still twisted in the fabric of Gabriel's shirt. After everything, after all the worry and the half memories, he doesn't want to lose contact with Gabriel.

It's not that Dean and the Mark are less important in his mind. But right now, he's caught in a moment where so much of his world has been turned upside down and he's clinging to the only person who can help him get it right-side up again.

"Pretty sure I missed you, too," he says, watching Gabriel's face. "I...how?"
